Magnificent Creatures

Brilliant in their own right Narcissists
Magnificent creatures
Leaders, teachers, poets, preachers
The world in harmony dances for just a taste of your beautiful mind
Your thoughts sound like music familiar but altogether unknown
Adorned across the ages
Magnificent Creatures
Spinning straw
blinding our senses
Unharnessed enlightenment
Spun into a memory
In its place invisible gold
Wealth with unforgiving injury untold
Magnificent creature
dammed eternal to roam
Thirsting
Searching
For an end
A beginning
A cure for the pain
A fill for the emptiness

Magnificent creatures wielding every sort of skill that by the skills own reputation
borders on myth and dare say it Magic
Conflating meritorious acts with actual merit
Example: Discovery of knowledge for uncovering of truth
Technicalities, tricky traps!
Hiding a fate likely tragic for unwitting well wishers
Who themselves loved and few lucky ones even witnessed marvels
At the hand of Magnificent creatures

Magnificent creature so terrifying, from where does your beauty appear
The answer, the world's wise, know is all too near

Magnificent creature
Unique to even the most discerning and erudite gaze
Eventually rendering the beholder blind

Relentlessly brewing foreboding suspicion of a hidden path of destruction
Left in the wake
Of inconceivable creations by the most Magnificent Creatures

Their key to survival
Relentless poise for the self defense kill
And a flattering laser-like focus on the secret & most beautiful parts of the real person we criminally hold captive
In a prison of deceitful self doubt locked tight with the deepest pain
And like magic these Magnificents seem a perfect fit to unlock those strongly held gates
Disappointing all those naïve enough to wait for the love they stole
When the key jams in the turn
Our savior disappears, with it precious a final hope for deliverance of fear
The best friend and worst foe any well wisher could ever know
Hold tight to precious hopes
And be weary of
Magnificent Creatures

At their worst they buy and sell people's attachments for short term advantages
Sell their soul for temporary riches and gold
Betting on a sense of immortality one hopes will fade with the high of their last line
All while eternal happiness lays at their feet
With all that wisdom or success or money
Yet an emptiness that will not subside
It's obvious who only thinks they live free
Magnificent Creature
I'm ashamed to have once called me
